Eid Al Fitr 2017 Dates in UAE Confirmed

- It has been confirmed that Eid Al Fitr 2017 will fall on 25th and 26th July, 2017
- The holidays for government entities in UAE will be from 24th June till 28th June, 2017
- Private sector entities in UAE will have holidays on 25th and 26th June, 2017, for Eid Al Fitr
- The dates for Eid Al Fitr 2017 was announced by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of UAE, after the official moon-sighting committee confirmed the first day of the month of Shawwal
- Eid Al Fitr marks the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan which is observed by Muslims all over the world
- Eid Al Fitr is a time of celebration in UAE, when friends and families gather to exchange gifts, sweets, and well wishes, and also mark the occasion by being charitable and generous
- Ramadan is period of fasting and atonement that Muslims observe, which occurs every year during the ninth month of the Islamic calendar
- Ramadan was observed in UAE from 27th May until 24th June, 2017
- In 2016, private sector employees had two days for Eid Al Fitr holidays
