e-registration compulsory for passengers at Abu Dhabi airport

Abu Dhabi Airports Company announced on Monday that passports registration for electronic use to improve passenger flow at Abu Dhabi International Airport is now compulsory.
Time is very important for all passengers travelling to their destination. Abu Dhabi Airports Company has introduced “Smart travel” in March in order to reduce the time consumption for a passenger to clear the airport’s security checks by upto 70 percent.
In a press release, Abu Dhabi Airports announced that travellers with registered passports will be able to use bag drops and proceed through automated airport e-gates.
Already, e- registration counters has been set up for travellers in the check-in areas to register their travel documents.
It is expected that 85,000 people will be departing from the airport during the Eid Al Fitr holiday, which falls on next Sunday.
Abu Dhabi Airport recommends that travellers should reach the airport 3 hours before their flight time during this busy season.
The company said tens of thousands of travellers were expected this week as school holidays are starting.
The date of 6 th, 10 th and 11 th of july were predicted to be the airport’s busiest days.
