Dust storms expected to hit Dubai and Abu Dhabi on Friday
The first day of the long holiday weekend is set to be a fine day, with clear skies and a high around 37°C on Thursday in Dubai.
In Abu Dhabi, it is expected to be slightly warmer, before a change overnight and into Friday.
Blowing dust is forecast to arrive on Friday, which could pose health issues for asthmatics and reduce visibility on the roads.
Both Abu Dhabi and Dubai are likely to be hit by dust storms on Friday as 22 kph winds blow sand and dust into the air from the northwest, with temperatures climbing to around 41°C.
It will be clearer in the Northern Emirates over the weekend. Friday and Saturday are likely to be sunny and warm, with daytime peaks of 38°C and overnight temperatures of 27°C.
