Dubai Public Parks go Paperless with Nol Card

- According to Dubai Municipality, Nol cards are mandatory for UAE residents to enter main public parks in Dubai
- Main public parks in Dubai, which charge AED 5 as entry fee, will no longer issue paper tickets to UAE residents
- Main public parks in Dubai include Zabeel Park, Al Mamzar Beach Park, Mushrif Park and Creek Park
- People who do not have Nol card, can purchase it for AED 25, with an activation fee of AED 6 and AED 19 balance to be redeemed on the card
- Nol card is a smart payment system for Dubai’s public transport system
- Nol cards can be recharged at the park’s counters or Nol card vending machines
- Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), has installed 70 smart gates in 4 public parks to allow residents to use Nol cards to pay the entry fees
- Tourists visiting Dubai for few days will be exempt from this rule, although those visiting with relatives who live in UAE need to use Nol card to enter the parks
- The move is part of the civic body’s strategy to implement smart services and reduce the use of paper
