Dubai Police Reveal Five Most Dangerous Roads in 2017

- Emirates Road is the most dangerous road in Dubai as it recorded the highest number of fatalities in the first half of 2017, Dubai Police said
- According to the latest statistics from Dubai Police’s Traffic Department, the number of overall road deaths dropped in the first half of 2017 to 76
- 10 people died on Emirates Road so far in 2017, 8 on Sheikh Zayed Road, 7 on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, 5 on Dubai-Al Ain road, and none on Al Khail Road
- 77 people suffered serious injuries, 343 moderate injuries and 570 minor injuries in the first half of 2017, in the emirate of Dubai
- Dubai Police is the main regulatory authority in the emirate, with a force of 15000, functioning for over 60 years in Dubai
- In the first half of 2016, there were 78 serious injuries, 388 moderate injuries and 590 minor injuries on Dubai roads
- There were 42291 traffic violation fines throughout 2016 in Dubai
- Some of the most dangerous violations motorists commit on the roads include sudden swerving, speeding, not leaving enough distance between vehicles and jumping the red lights
- Dubai Police launched six new projects in June 2017, in order to improve their services and productivity
