- The Smart Happiness Project Assessment Tool is intended to help decision makers in evaluating upcoming smart projects and the extent to which they contribute to people’s happiness
- The tool will use the data of Gallup World Poll, which analyses over 100 critical issues affecting people’s lives over 12 years in 160 countries
- Smart Dubai is an initiative by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai, to make Dubai ‘the happiest city on the planet’
- The Smart Dubai Office has six dimensions, namely smart living, smart economy, smart mobility, smart governance, smart environment, and smart people

- The results of the Gallup World Poll showed that the majority of 700 residents interviewed reported that smart living and economy-related initiatives affected their lives most
- The Smart Happiness Project Assessment Tool uses the Smart Happiness Index, which gives data-based link between happiness and SDO’s six dimensions
- The tool will be a unified means among government departments to help achieve the Happiness Agenda, which was launch by Sheikh Mohammed in May 2016
