Dubai government approves new HR law

- The new law recently approved increases mourning leave, annual leave and comes along with other privileges
- The law allows the possibility for one to work from remote locations
- The annual leave is increased from 22 to 25 days for employees of grade 8 to 11, while those employees of grades 7 and below receive 18 days of leave instead of 15
- The previous law only allowed the travel for up to 3 children in a family, this new law has abolished that cap
- The new law also grants employees allowance for overtime directly from their immediate supervisor
- The law grants employees who are busy into research, projects and graduation a five-day comprehensive leave
- The law allows promoting an employee to higher ranks depending upon their performance and if meets expectations, rather than experience
- The law grants annual allowance for employee’s family members of those aged 21 and below, unlike the previous age cap of 18
- The law was approved this Sunday by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai
