Dubai Font Alphabets Make an Appearance in Dubai

- Structures of alphabets styled in the Dubai Font have been placed around Dubai
- The alphabets have been found in key spots like Sheikh Zayed Road, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Boulevard, Kite Beach and Dubai Mall, among other places
- The structures are in both English and Arabic alphabets, in black, with the name ‘Dubai Font’ written on them in both languages along with the social media handles and website of the project
- This unique initiative serves as a reminder of the core values that characterisee the city of Dubai: happiness, giving, respect, tolerance, modernity, smartness and living in harmony
- The Dubai Font is the first font created by and named after a city, launched in April 2017, and developed in collaboration with Microsoft
- The Dubai Font is the brainchild of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai
- The font is available in 23 languages from around the world, as a nod to Dubai’s global standing and reach
- Dubai Font is available for all of the 100 million users of Microsoft’s Office 365 software, and can be downloaded in multiple formats or Windows, Android and Mac OS software
- Sheikh Hamdan has launched the Dubai Font with the slogan ‘Express You’, to encourage people to communicate more through their own languages but also find common ground with others through the font
