Dubai airport handles 1.14m passengers during Eid
Travel movement during Eid Al Adha holidays reached more than 1.14 million passengers in Dubai, while 184,989 entry and residency permits (visa) were issued, an official in the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) Dubai said on Monday.
Major General Mohammad Ahmad Al Merri, Director General of (GDRFA) Dubai, said that travel movement between August 19 and 23 reached 1.14 million passengers through airports, sea and land ports.
About 204,549 travellers used smart gates during the holiday which ease the traffic through Dubai airports.
“We follow our leaders directives to make people happy. It is a major goal in GDRFA and we are keen to implement it by having the necessary mechanism to make it easy for travellers, especially during holidays,” Maj-Gen Al Merri said during a visit to all terminals at Dubai International Airport.
GDRFA welcomed travellers arriving to the airport with greetings and Maj-Gen Al Merri, met some passengers and ask for their feedback about the services at the airport.
