Distinctive projects taking iconic shapes in Dubai

Some of the best projects in Dubai end up being one of the world’s finest and most significant signature designs that the world has ever seen. It is what Dubai is known for. And it was has put Dubai on the global map as one of the go-to destinations for travelers and tourists alike.
Recently, there are two main projects in Dubai that is progressing really fast. The Museum of the Future and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library are now coming to reality and one can already see the distinctive shapes that these iconic projects are taking form of. Day by day, it is becoming more and more obvious.
The Museum of the Future
Somewhat in the shape of an egg or that of an eye, in more like an oval shape, the Museum of the Future is taking form very fast. It is located in front of the Emirates Towers on Shaikh Zayed Road. At present, only the metal frame can be witnessed. The whole project is now taking the complete form of the initial design that was earlier planned. The project is proposed to be completed in the year of 2019. At that time, this iconic infrastructure will have a shiny smooth exterior, with some Arabic writing on it.
This project was announced as an initiative in the year 2015 by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Unlike the other museums that are present in Dubai and around UAE currently, the Museum of the Future will not be a museum that will house relics of the past and ancient artefacts, but, like its name suggests, the museum will be an incubator of innovation. It will showcase more of what the technologies in the future and the lifestyles that are changed due to the usage of such technologies will look like.
Mohammed Bin Rashid Library
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library is located down Al Khail Road near the Business Bay. Motorists driving down this road will be able to clearly see a structure that is in the shape of a book. This unique construction is a project that is initiated and managed by the Dubai Municipality.
The structure would resemble that of an open book to most of the passersby and the drivers, but actually, it is meant to represent a ‘rehl’. ‘Rehl’is the Arabic word for ‘traditional lectern’. It is on what a book will rest when one wants to read it the traditional Arabic way. More of a bookstand or a book rest. The ‘rehl’ carries the Holy Qur’an to be more specific.
Supporting Dubai’s vision, besides the paper books, there will be millions of other audio and audiovisual books along with plenty of e-books in the library. The library is being built for the foundation of that of the Mohammad Bin Rashid Library Foundation. It is scheduled to open its doors for the latter part of this year.
