Check this out: Dubai’s new iPod building

Dubai has a new iPod building, and it is a one of a kind. Dubai never fails to create signature architecture that stands out from the crowd and is well known on this worldwide. In fact, it is one of the main reasons as to why people from all over the world flock to come and see Dubai.
iPod building is not yet fully finished and is more in the completion phase. The Hong Kong architect James Law has taken the world of architecture to a whole another level. The iPod building is set to have its doors open in the fall of 2018. The iPod building is said to be a smart building and will be 26- stories high located in Business Bay. The building is designed by James Law of James Law Cybertecture from Hong Kong and is not only inspired by the Apple iPod, but it also scales to the actual building form of the actual design of the iPod.
James Law mentioned on his website, “The building is said to have been designed as “a new type of architecture which takes on board the technological advances available currently to allow inhabitants to program their own software for their building.”’
There is also a philosophy to this new type of architecture and it is called as Cybertecture. Quite a unique name. This design for a residential building had won out of other very competitive designs against architects that are big in the industry such as Foster and Partners, as well as Zaha Hadid Architects.
The building all in all has got 256 apartments that range from studio apartments, one-bedroom apartments, and one to three-bedroom duplexes overlooking the magnificent Dubai Canal. The structure is inclined at a slight angle of 6.5 degrees and has a resemblance of that of a leaning tower in order to exactly give a reference to the original iPod device as it is seen leaning when it standing in its charging dock.
This is only what it looks from the outside. But on the inside of the smart building is also very much tech like. The technological features in here range from biometric locks, voice recognition, voice control, mood lighting and mirrors that can monitor your health. Quite impressive.
The construction of this building had started in the year of 2007. Almost 11 years back and then stopped later in 2009. The construction of this building began once again in 2013 and is now scheduled for its completion in 2018.
