AMD Constructs 6 Residential Parks

Abu Dhabi City Municipality – 23 January 2016:
Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADM) concluded the year 2015 with a flurry of projects undertaken to improve infrastructure, maintain & rehabilitate roads, bridges and tunnels system, and enhance lighting, among others
These projects underscore the municipal system’s keenness to keep pace with the development drive seen by Abu Dhabi, and provide high-quality specifications and modern infrastructure capable of offering services to measure up with the growth needs and achieve the aspirations of the community and strategic partners, and contribute to perpetuating the values of sustainability.
Last year the Municipality finalized several construction projects and maintenance works in various fields, including maintenance and repairs of internal roads in Greater Abu Dhabi and the Mainland covering the 4th and 8th Districts.
The key projects undertaken by the Municipality in residential parks last year included the construction of children’s playgrounds in the Mainland (Phase I), in addition to constructing four residential parks in Mohammed Bin Zayed City, one park in Khalifa City and another in Baniyas City.
The Municipality is moving ahead with the School Traffic Safety Project in Abu Dhabi, where the tendering process is underway to complete the project as planned.
In terms of sustainability of infrastructure projects, last year the Municipality carried out a lighting maintenance project where the traditional lighting in Yas Island Funfair was retrofitted by LED system. The Municipality also assigned priority to other works such as street lighting, storm water drainage, and sidewalks in Southeast Sector in Khalifa City First Zone I, Second Zone I and Fourth Zone 1.
Incandescent lights in 1100 lampposts were replaced by LED lights in Yas Island, besides installing 2067 modern lampposts in Khalifa City.
As for the completed projects in 2015 on the south mainland, the Municipality accomplished roads and sidewalks maintenance projects in Mohammed Bin Zayed City, Zone Z30, and roads maintenance in the First Industrial City of Abu Dhabi (ICAD 1), in addition to parking and footpath works for Sheikh Zayed Fifth Heritage Festival. The projects also included improving traffic movement and traffic safety in Bani Yas East 8 (Municipality’s Market), maintenance works of Street 32 in Bani Yas East in accordance with the USDM guide. Footpaths in some areas in Al Bahya were maintained, and car parking & footpaths were built around mosques in Al Samha East in accordance with the USDM guide. The car parking lots level was raised in order to avoid the water gatherings around the School of the Mother of UAE in Al Shamkha area, besides constructing roads crossing and surrounding Al Bahya Farms in Yas area, and undertaking traffic safety works in Yas Island. Also roads and infrastructure works were constructed in the Mohammed Bin Zayed City – Area B Z:3, Pilot Project, in addition to internal roads and infrastructure works in Mohammed Bin Zayed City covering various sectors – Phase II – Z 36/01 sector.
In 2015, the Municipality completed the maintenance and construction of several key public and residential park projects on Abu Dhabi mainland South & its suburbs including the completion of Phase I & Phase II of 8 parks in Mohammed Bin Zayed City, the construction of 3 parks in Al Shamkhah park and Al Adlah Park, besides rehabilitating Al Khatm Park, and extending the irrigation network, reservoirs and pumping stations project from Al Faya to Al Khatm.
The Municipality also completed scores of lighting projects in 2015 such as replacing 123 lighting devices, including 79 lighting devices in Bani Yas 32 East Street, and 44 lighting devices in Al Maqataa Bridge.
Regarding the land plots preparation system projects in infrastructure system, last year the Municipality completed the Internal Roads and Infrastructure Project in Mohammed Bin Zayed City in various sectors, as part of Phase II in Z 36/01 Zone, serving 182 housing land plots.
Last year, the Municipality also embarked constructing walkways, roads and infrastructure in Mohammed Bin Zayed City B – Z:3, the pilot project that serves internal road network including walkways and bicycle tracks and is expected to complete this year.
