Al Dhabaiya Dhows Racing 43 F – Sports Event in Abu Dhabi
The race held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of His Highness the President and Chairman of the Emirates Heritage Club inaugurates the club’s new shipping season of 2016 – 2017.
The event is organised in an attempt to revive the maritime heritage, promote the spirit of this ancient sport and provide opportunities and avenues for the Dhow racing sport to be restored and introduced to the youth as part of the maritime heritage.
The participants in this race complete about 20 nautical miles in water from the Breakwater platform off the Abu Dhabi Corniche.
Along with the race, the event includes a public celebration in a form of a heritage village, shopping outlets and fun activities.
Following the race will be a winner presentation ceremony.
