Al Bateen Beach

Al Bateen Beach
Al Bateen Beach is an excellent venue for waterfront picnics. Al Bateen Beach attracts those who like to go there to swim and fish on their weekends. This beach is quite narrow with a steep creek to the water and not as crowded with amenities as other area beaches that are more geared towards western tourists. To reach Al Bateen Beach in Abu Dhabi, drive towards west on 19th Street (Saeed Bin Tahnoon St) and turn left when it ends, onto 16th Street. After about 200 metres, you will see the beach on the right in front of Sheikh Sultan Bin Sayed Playground.
Al Bateen Beach is much smaller than its rival, Corniche Beach, but nevertheless it’s a popular spot in its own right, especially with those who value a quieter, more relaxing atmosphere.
Ideal for picnics, swimming and fishing, Al Bateen Beach is still very close to the city, so it offers high quality amenities for tourists, although there are noticeably less restaurants, shops and vendors walking around compared to other, more touristy beaches. The beach here is quite narrow and steep.
