Abu Dhabi’s Mushrif Central Park renamed ‘Mother of the Nation Park’
Mushrif Central Park in the capital has been renamed ‘Mother of the Nation Park’ in honour of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, widow of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founding President of the UAE.
Sheikha Fatima is the Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.
The name change was ordered by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The park has recently been renovated and new recreation and sports facilities have been added.
