Abu Dhabi Unplugged 2017 – Family Event in Abu Dhabi

With an aim to instil a culture of creativity and innovation in the younger generation, Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) offers a multifaceted programme titled Abu Dhabi Unplugged. This diversified programme provides a platform from which the youth can display their innovative talents, creativity, skills and abilities.
The one-day programme demonstrates expertise and talents in various areas, including singing, hip-hop, performing arts, acting, playing musical instruments, stand-up comedy and other artistic performances.
TCA Abu Dhabi organises a wide range of programmes and activities that engage a broad-spectrum of audience in the UAE, through an array of cultural, communal and educational programmes. TCA Abu Dhabi aims to support the artistic scene in Abu Dhabi and in the UAE by providing all necessary means to maintain the national artistic talents and to strengthen their presence in the local and international scenes.
Abu Dhabi Unplugged performers
Waleed Tharwat started dancing hip-hop in 2006 when he was only 10. Tharwat performed in many places in the country along with Espada Crew, has won three championships.
Khalifa Al Badoor is studying Media Communication. He started singing and playing the guitar eight years ago and has never stopped. He says hobbies turn great when you use them well.
Ali Al Sayed is a comedian from Dubai. Al Sayed is the founder of the local entertainment company Viva Arts and is the co-director of Dubomedy Arts, the first and only comedy and urban arts school in the MENA region.
Mohammad Ahmed Fikree is an award-winning Emirati animation director and the founder of MohdFikree Studio. He is currently working as a graphic designer and video editor at du. He had also directed the end credit sequences for UAE’s popular television animated series Freej .
Standup Comedy
Dubomedy’s Improve Troupe by: Mina Liccione, Omar Ismail, Mish’al Eskander, Simeon Goodson, Alex Liccione
Standup Comedy Dubomedy’s Improve Revolution Troupe is the premiere improvisational comedy group in the UAE founded by award-winning comedians Mina Liccione and Ali Al Sayed in 2010.
The ensemble performs short and long form games as well as original sketches. Their shows are always high energy, action packed and filled with audience participation and laughter. All of the performers are trained under the Dubomedy Arts School and perform regularly around the UAE.
Roudha Al Hameli is a 19-year-old polyglot student who loves to learn and experience new things daily.She is currently studying International Business and Languages in Paris-Sorbonne University and is fluent in English, Arabic, French, Spanish and a beginner in Chinese. Al Hameli is a self-taught pianist that enjoys blogging, participating in singing competitions as well as playing football.
