Abu Dhabi to replace damaged UAE flags

Abu Dhabi will replace all damaged UAE flags in the emirate as part of a municipal campaign.
The Abu Dhabi Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport said on Monday that all damaged national flags would be replaced annually to preserve the appearance of the emirate’s cities.
Some faded, weather-worn or torn flags had already been replaced, the department said.
“Maintaining the UAE flag in good condition regularly is a national obligation and community responsibility, as well as an opportunity to express loyalty to the nation,” said Khalifa Al Mazrouei, undersecretary at the department.
The department also called on private flag owners to replace old flags with new ones.
