Abu Dhabi Public Recreational Areas get Revamped

The Abu Dhabi City Municipality said it has completed four recreation projects in the city’s residential neighbourhoods, including parks, playgrounds, irrigation networks, pumping stations and reservoirs to upgrade the capital’s infrastructure.
The projects are divided into four contracts, the first being the parks and infrastructure rehabilitation project in the Mainland as part of phase VI, where water leakage detectors, irrigation water efficiency measuring instruments, and main network pressure meters were installed. This project also aimed at lowering the groundwater level in Al Shamkha, Sector 26, rehabilitating fountains, replacing tiles, floor and lighting.
The second project included constructing various multi-use parks in residential neighbourhoods in Abu Dhabi and building additional playgrounds in Shakhboot city, Al Asema Park, and Hamad Special Needs Center, in addition to landscaping works in other areas in Abu Dhabi.
The third completed project was the parks and infrastructure rehabilitation project on Abu Dhabi Island, which included rehabilitation of infrastructure, installation of irrigation water flow meters, reservoirs, pumping stations, and irrigation networks. It also included fencing and landscaping a national institution, planting two hedge barriers along Street 29 in Al Muroor area and Sheikh Zayed Road in Abu Dhabi.
The fourth completed project was the rehabilitation of parks and infrastructure in Abu Dhabi Island, which included maintenance and rehabilitation of the sewage plant in the Abu Dhabi Corniche. It also includes the installation of irrigation network control, efficiency and pressure meters, and the rehabilitation of IP63 irrigation water station, besides supplying some areas in Abu Dhabi with irrigation water.
