Abu Dhabi Police to get an All-New Avatar

- Abu Dhabi Police will be rebranded and relaunched as a force, complete with new uniforms and American-style shield badges
- The Abu Dhabi Police force will become a separate law enforcement body from the Ministry of Interior, which oversees the emirates’ police forces
- The new primary focus of Abu Dhabi Police will be tackling a culture of bad driving and increasing traffic safety
- As part of the organisational changes, officers will carry US-style badges, have a new logo, get new uniforms by September 2017 and new cars by November 2017
- The Abu Dhabi Police is the regulatory authority in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, who are mainly responsible for all matters related to safety and security of the residents of Abu Dhabi
- In 2017, Abu Dhabi Police took on more than 1000 members of the public, Emiratis and expats, as community police officers
- In UAE, the number of people killed in traffic accidents increased from 675 in 2015 to 725 in 2016, thereby becoming a cause for increased concern for the traffic authorities of the country
- Tougher penalties and a mandatory seatbelt law were brought into effect in UAE from 1st July, 2017, as an effort of the part of the police to increase road safety
- Abu Dhabi Police launched the ‘Abu Dhabi Police Services’ application, which has more than 35 police services for users, 3 services for its personnel and seven innovative services
