Abu Dhabi Police Receive Over 1.5 Million Calls in Seven Months

- Nearly 1.5 million calls were made to Abu Dhabi Police’s Command and Control Centre in the first seven months of 2017, at the rate of five calls in every one minute
- The Abu Dhabi Police emergency number 999 received 980,066 calls from Abu Dhabi, 415,330 from Al Ain and 80,986 from Al Dhafra
- Most of the calls made were regarding traffic violations, criminal reports, inquiries for travel directions and women asking for help after a vehicle breakdown
- Police patrols are dispatched to locations as soon as calls are received while coordinating with authorities like the Air Wing, Community Police, Quick Intervention Unit, Civil Defence, Traffic Patrols, Ambulance and Rescue, Crime Scene and other departments
- The Abu Dhabi Police is the regulatory authority in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, who are mainly responsible for all matters related to safety and security of the residents of Abu Dhabi
- In the first seven months of 2016, the Abu Dhabi PoliceCommand and Control Centre received 1,227,645 calls, which included 185,341 reports of criminal activity and 171,328 concerned traffic violations

- The Abu Dhabi Police organised 82 workshops in the first six months of 2017, aimed at improving time management in the workplace
