A stranded visitor in Dubai lands a job
The stranded Indian visitor, Ashif Mohammad, who came to Dubai looking for a job had earlier lost his bag this month, but that has only come out as a blessing in disguise for this lucky man as he got himself landed with a job at Danube.
He had landed in Dubai in April 19 all in the search for a job and had then lost his bag during a bus trip to Ras Al Khaimah. That bag was a very important one because in it were all his valuables. His original passport, his educational certificates, some cash and his laptop all were in it. He ran from pillar to pillar to retrieve his bag full of his personal belongings and valuables but had no luck.
Even though he is still yet to find his bag, the 28-year-old is very happy to have found a job with one of Dubai’s leading firms.
Mohammad, who got an offer to work as a document controller mentioned, ““I am overwhelmed by the support I have received since the Gulf News report was published. All I was hoping for was to get some direction in search of my bag which had all my documents and valuables, but when I got a call from Danube Properties, I couldn’t believe my ears.”
He also added, “I received a lot of calls from different people and companies after the Gulf News report, but nothing materialised. So when I got the call from Danube, I thought it is one of those calls, but when I actually went to their office and met Mr Atif Rahman, I realised this was not a dream. I am really glad to have gotten this chance to work with such a reputed firm.”
He looks forward to having his temporary passport in order to exit the country and travel back in to get on an employment visa and work with Danube at the earliest.
“After reading about Ashif Mohammad in Gulf News, I was moved and could not help but ask our HR manager to invite him for a job interview. It was a few days after the holy month of Ramadan — the month of caring and sharing — and Eid Holidays and I felt, what is our worth if we can’t support a young man trying to realise his dream,” said Rahman.
