‘A Day Without Service Centres’ in Dubai Successful
- There were no long queues, no heavy paperwork and parking areas were almost empty of cars at most government service centres on Thursday, 26th October
- The day was observed as ‘A Day Without Service Centres’ in Dubai, initiated by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and launched by the Department of Finance
- Most government transactions were done via mobile apps, web portals and e-kiosks to encourage customers to use these smart channels
- The initiative will happen annually, and is aimed at boosting Dubai’s digital transformation drive to make it one of the smartest cities in the world
- Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai
- There are around 950 government services provided by 33 public and private sector entities in Dubai
- Sheikh Mohammed has launched a Smart Dubai Plan 2021, which aims to transform Dubai Government to a 100% paperless government
- The Government of Dubai launched its Dubai Pulse online portal, which will enable Emiratis and expats to access hundreds of government services
- A new Service 1 Centre was initiated in Dubai, that provides 14 government services to customers with the help of a single employee using Artificial Intelligence
