- The museum’s collection, which includes 620 permanent works, is organised in 12 different galleries that intend to tell the tale of humanity
- Louvre Abu Dhabi is part of a thirty-year agreement between the city of Abu Dhabi and the French government, taking its name from the original Louvre in Paris
- Louvre Abu Dhabi will be the first of three museums to be completed and opened on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi
- Entry to Louvre Abu Dhabi is free for children below 13 years, and AED 30 for youngsters aged 13-22, and AED 60 for adults over 22
- Members of Louvre Abu Dhabi’s loyalty programme, journalists, visitors with specials needs and their companions will get free entry
- Some of the first artefacts on display at Louvre Abu Dhabi include an ancient statue of the Sphinx and 13 fragments of a frieze detailing Surah Al Hashr from the Quran
