50 Teslas Added to Dubai Taxi Fleet

- Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has unveiled 50 Tesla electric vehicles that will be added to the limo fleet of the Dubai Taxi Corporation
- The launch of the Tesla vehicles was held at the entrance of Dubai International Airport, Terminal 3
- 75 Tesla vehicles will be supplied to RTA in 2018, and 75 others will be delivered in 2019
- RTA has procured the Model S and Model X Tesla vehicles, which are equipped with the hardware needed for full self-driving capability
- The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is the regulatory authority for all matters regarding transport and road safety in the emirate of Dubai
- RTA ordered 200 vehicles from Tesla in February 2017, at the World Government Summit
- Dubai Taxi Corporation has provided 13 electric recharging stations for Tesla vehicles around Dubai
- Tesla’s Model S has been given the highest possible safety rating at the time of launch, and it can cover the longest distance amongst electric vehicles
- Tesla’s Autopilot is designed to give drivers more confidence behind the wheel, increase their safety on the road, and make highway driving more enjoyable
