242 ‘abandoned vehicles’ seized in Abu Dhabi

Authorities in Abu Dhabi have seized 242 vehicles that were deemed to be abandoned by their owners from the Musaffah and surrounding areas.
According to the Abu Dhabi Municipality, the confiscation was a result of an inspection campaign conducted in the area to combat “disorderly practices constituting eyesores to the appearance of the city”.
About 742 street vendors were also fined as part of the campaign.
According to the municipality, a warning sticker is posted by authorities on vehicles deemed to be abandoned by their owners. If the vehicle is not fixed or removed from the area within three days, it is confiscated and a Dh3,000 fine slapped against its owner.
