The Mother of the Nation Festival is conducted in honour of Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, wife of the late founding father of UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The Sheikha has played a big role in making UAE a progressive and has many accolades to her name, including the positions of Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and Chairwoman of the Supreme Council of Motherhood and Childhood. Organised by Abu Dhabi’s Tourism and Culture Authority, the festival will display Sheikha Fatima’s values and accomplishments.
The festival, returning in 2017 for a second year, promises to be ten days of fun for the people of Abu Dhabi. Spread across more than a kilometre of the Corniche area, the festival has multiple activity zones that are set to create a highly energetic and entertaining atmosphere for families and couples, adults and youngsters, senior citizens and kids alike.
