The Middle East and North Africa will face severe water shortages in the coming years as populations increase and further strain is placed on resources.
That is according to a white paper issued by General Electric and World Resources Institute as the World Future Energy Summit got under way in Abu Dhabi yesterday.
The ‘Water, Energy, Risks & Rewards’ report states that all 21 countries in the MENA region will experience what the World Health Organisation (WHO) calls ‘water poverty’ by 2030, unless key changes are made. Details
