UAE Ranked on World’s Top 10 Countries for Expats
- UAE has moved up two places to rank as the 10th best country in the world for expatriates, according to HSBC’s latest Expat Explorer survey
- YouGov, on behalf of HSBC, surveyed 27587 expatriates from 159 countries in March and April 2017, of which 987 were expats residents in UAE
- In the Expat Explorer league table, UAE came 10th overall, while ranking 5th for economics, 20th for experience, 24th for family, and 46th for cost for children
- The survey showed that 41% of respondents said that one reason they moved to the UAE was to improve their quality of life
- The HSBC Expat Explorer survey is one of the largest independent global expat surveys, in its tenth year in 2017
- Expatriates constitute 90% of UAE’s population, with only 10% of Emiratis accounting for it
- Indians and Pakistanis form the largest expatriate groups in UAE, constituting 25% and 12% of the total population respectively
- Singapore, Norway, New Zealand, Germany and Netherlands ranked highest overall on the Expat Explorer 2017 survey
- Out of 46 countries surveyed on the Expat Explorer 2017, Kuwait, Brazil, Argentina, Peru and Egypt ranked the least
