- RTA Dubai has announced that it will be carrying out road works as part of its expansion project for Route 2020
- From midnight 9th November to the morning of 11th November, traffic from the Northbound Exit on Ibn Battuta Road will be diverted
- RTA has asked motorists to use alternative routes to avoid the blockage
- Route 2020 is the 15-km extension of Dubai Metro’s Red Line to the Dubai Expo 2020 venue
- Along Route 2020 will be five stations above ground, two underground stations, an interchange area, and an expo station
- Route 2020 will be served by a transfer station with the Red Line at Nakheel Harbour and Tower Station, and an Expo station
- Drilling work on Route 2020 started at the end of October, and passes through Discovery Gardens, Green Community, and Dubai Investment Park up to the Expo 2020 venue
- The tunnel for Route 2020 will be between 12.5m and 36m underground and excavation is expected to be completed by December 2018
