The Dubai Fountain

The Dubai Fountain

The Dubai Fountain is the world’s largest choreographed fountain system set on the 30-acre manmade Burj Khalifa Lake. The project, which cost AED 800 million to develop, was inaugurated on 8 May 2009 along with the opening of The Dubai Mall.

Illuminated by 6,600 lights and 25 coloured projectors, it is 902 feet (275 m) long and shoots water up to 500 feet (152.4 m) into the air, accompanied by a range of classical to contemporary Arabic and world music. The Fountain is made of numerous high-pressure water jets and shooters which can spray 83000 litres (22000 gallons) of water in the air at any given time. Each display of The Dubai Fountain attracts hundreds of visitors. It can be seen from all around the lake and even from the observation decks on Burj Khalifa, which makes for a unique experience.
