School buses inspected at hundreds of Abu Dhabi schools and nurseries
More than 400 schools, nurseries and bus operators in Abu Dhabi have been inspected to ensure their buses comply with school transport regulations.
The inspections were carried out by the Department of Transport and the School Transport Executive Committee in Abu Dhabi, according to Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language sister paper of The National.
The committee has adopted regulatory measures on schools and transport operators, including technical specifications intended to promote and improve safety of the school transport system.
The regulations are meant to guarantee the safety of students to and from school, and to equip school buses with the latest technology.
