About Qasr al-Hosn
Host to the Emirati Heritage festival, more commonly known as ‘Qasr al-Hosn Festival’, Qasr al-Hosn is the oldest fort of Abu Dhabi that signifies the journey of the Emirate through time. A masterplan has been introduced to renovate the site to make sure it does not lose its significance and beauty. The fort was originally built in 1761 as a watchtower. Abu Dhabi has gradually developed around the tower, making Qasr al-Hosn a cultural jewel in the heart of one of the most modern cities in the Middle East.
