December 2 and December 3 (Wednesday and Thursday) have been declared paid holidays for the private sector on account of National Day and Martyr’s Day.
A circular to this end was issued by Minister of Labor minister Saqr Ghobash.
“In pursuance with the directives of The President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to designate November 30 every year as Martyr’s Day as a token of immortality, faithfulness and gratitude to the sacrifices, giving and devotion for the dutiful martyrs of the country, and according to the federal law No 8 of 1980 on regularization of the labor relations and the provision of article 74 and amendments.”
