Private Sector Holidays for Eid Al Adha 2017 Declared

- All private sector employees in the UAE will have three-day paid holidays starting on Thursday, 31st August, until Saturday, 2nd September, on account of Eid Al Adha
- Work will resume on Sunday, 3rd September, as per the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation’s announcement
- Saqr bin Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, greeted UAE’s President, Prime Minister, Vice President and other officials on the ocassion
- Saudi Arabia has announced a 16-day holiday for Eid Al Adha, while Pakistan has announced a four-day break
- Eid Al Adha, which means ‘Feast of the Sacrifice’, is observed after the period in which Muslims undertake the sacred Hajj pilgrimage
- Article 74 of Federal Law No. 08 for the year 1980 regulating labour relations in UAE stipulates that the Eid Al Adha holiday shall be three days
- Public sector employees in UAE will get off from Thursday, 31st August till Monday, 4th September, for Eid Al Adha 2017
- Eid Al Adha is the largest Islamic festival celebrated around the world
- As per the Islamic calendar, Eid Al Adha will fall on Dhu Al Hijjah 10, 1438
