- The Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation has successfully connected Units 3 and 4 of the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant to the UAE electricity transmission grid
- The connection is a prerequisite for future testing and allows for the completion of additional auxiliary buildings at both Units 3 & 4
- Other significant milestones at this time include the energisation of Unit 2 Main Power Transformer, Excitation Transformer and Unit Auxiliary Power Transformers

- All four units of Barakah are progressing towards completion – as of January 2018 Unit 1 is undergoing testing, Unit 2 is at 90%, Unit 3 is at 79% and Unit 4 is 60% complete
- By 2021, clean energy is slated to make up 27% of UAE’s energy sources
