- RTA Dubai has opened the bridge linking Al Khail road and Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) on Friday, 12th January 2018
- The bridge, which begins at the intersection of Ras Al Khor and Al Khail road, is expected to see nearly 4500 vehicles per hour, especially during peak hours
- The two-lane, one-way bridge extends 1270 metres and is built on single columns crossing over the Dubai Water Canal
- The construction of the bridge will accommodate the expansion of Dubai Mall that aims to receive more than 100 million visitors per year
- The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is the regulatory authority for all matters regarding transport and road safety in the emirate of Dubai
- Dubai International Financial Centre is a major global financial hub for the Middle East, Africa and South Asia markets, located on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai
- Al Khail Road is one of the most-used roads in Dubai, often choked with traffic during peak hours and weekends
- Dubai Mall is the largest shopping mall in the world, with a record-breaking 65 million visitors in 2012, and also hosts the tallest tower and largest aquarium in the world
- The bridge will ease the flow of traffic along the Financial Centre street and ease the pressure on the intersections of Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard
