Multiple Curriculum Schools

There are a number of schools in Abu Dhabi which have a combination of curriculums such as American, British, International Baccalaureate and Ministry of Education.

American Curriculum – The American curriculum is based on high standards of achievement in all subject areas. An American international school starts with entry to Kindergarten at age 5. Students can study through to Grade 12, where they are awarded with the American High School Diploma at age 17.

British Curriculum – Also known as the National Curriculum for England, the British curriculum is a broad and balanced system which covers all of the major arts, sciences and humanities subjects. With a wide-angle view and a liberal approach, it’s great for keeping track of progress and encouraging achievement all the way from primary school to college level.

International Baccalaureate (IB) – The International Baccalaureate (IB) is an international educational foundation headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland and founded in 1968. It offers four educational programmes: the IB Diploma Programme and the IB Career-related Programme for students aged 16 to 19, the IB Middle Years Programme, designed for students aged 11 to 16, and the IB Primary Years Programme for children aged 3 to 12. To teach these programmes, schools need to be authorised by IB.

Ministry of Education (MoE) Curriculum – The Ministry of Education signed a seven-year contract with McGraw-Hill Education in 2016 to provide a new world-class curriculum to enhance the UAE’s education system. The content for each curricular programme was selected based on the most advanced and progressive material developed for US standards and is aligned with the UAE National Standard Framework.
