More than 670,000 people travelled to and from Dubai during the Eid Al Adha holidays between September 22 and September 26, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) said on Sunday.
The statistics comprise travellers using all entry points to the emirate, including its land, sea and air ports.
Major General Mohammad Ahmad Rashid Al Merri said that 814,981 transactions were completed at the GDRFA centres across the emirate during the Eid holiday.
“Our departments were instructed to ease the entry procedures for all travellers during Eid,” Maj Gen Al Merri said. “We wanted to make coming to Dubai easier and smoother for our tourists. Even with the influx of tourists coming in and out during that period, our staff has been well trained to handle the Eid rush.”
Maj Gen Al Merri said that the GDRFA staff and officers worked during the holiday and are now ready to receive the pilgrims who have started coming back to Dubai. Details
