Manarat Al Saadiyat Ramadan Evenings – Family Event in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) is organising a series of Ramadan cultural evenings during the holy month. This programme falls within TCA Abu Dhabi’s framework that aims to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan and reflect its values and significance to the community, through a range of cultural activities inspired by the spiritual atmosphere of the holy month. The programme also emphasises the Emirati traditions performed during this holy month.

The evenings offer a diverse programme that includes a unique Iftar experience, an interactive mosaic mural, an art exhibition, board games, readings and Emirati intangible heritage workshops. The daily programme also comprises book narrations and sessions highlighting the rituals of the holy month of Ramadan, the Islamic architecture as well as performances of Islamic chants and cultural activities celebrating the holy month.

The event features:

Conceptual Iftars 
A community-focused, pop-up modern Iftar with a bespoke menu offering a delectable range of contemporary Arabic/Emirati fusion cuisine that celebrates togetherness and community spirit. Check the menu here

Fuala on wheels 
Mobile F&B tricycles roaming around the venue will offer a range of delicious and traditional Arabic sweets (knafeh, baqlava and halwa) as well as hot beverages.

A choice of cafés will present their unique menus befitting the theme of the festival.

A retail hub with selective goods is presented in a family friendly and modern ambiance. The souq will feature unique gift items and fun shopping including stationary, home décor, fashion clothing, accessories and toys.

Board games & Vintage Video Games Corner 
This section ensures fun with family and friends while playing board games and vintage video games that have a sentimental value including Keram, Uno and consoles like Nintendo 96 and Atari besides indoor Arcade Games such as Air hockey, foose-ball, pin pong and basket-ball.

Interactive Mosaic Mural 
An interactive Mosaic Mural featuring individual photos of visitors taken on site and uploaded into a programme to create a projected live wall mural that will eventually depict one of Abu Dhabi’s loved landmarks.

Educational Workshops 
Specialised educational workshops for both adults and kids will take place daily with 2 themes and collaborations every week.

Music 
An engaging music programme in collaboration with ‘Bait Al Oud’ teachers and performers will present a special ‘jam-session’ concerts every week and will also teach interested students onsite three times a week.

Bait Al Oud jam-session concerts every Friday from 9:30pm to 11:00pm

Puppet Show 
An interactive story telling experience with a live puppet show that highlights stories from the classic repertoire
Every Saturday 8:30pm – 8:55pm/ 9:40pm – 10:00pm

Traditional Crafts Interactive workshops 
Learn traditional crafts directly with Artisans providing live training experience to help audience understand the importance of the crafts such as Al Sadu, Al Talli, Al Khos and weaving.

Book Corner 
National Library brings a book corner that will host locally published books and live readings for families to enjoy.
Sunday to Friday from 9:30pm – 11:30pm

Art Exhibition and Charity 
Using art for charity, artists will produce beautifully designed art pieces to be sold in the exhibition as an auction. The proceeds will be donated to a good cause.

The History of the Quran Talks: Scripture & Design 
A weekly talk that discusses the production of the holy books with reference to the different time periods, scriptures, motif and patterns designs.

Islamic Architecture: The Mosque 
Weekly talk that discusses the architectural history of the mosques as well as their architectural typologies. The final talk will discuss the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.

A weekly performance by known Anasheed singers and groups in the UAE include:
