Last day for Availing 50% Discount on Traffic Fines in UAE

- The 50% discount on traffic fines in the country ends today (1st March 2018), Abu Dhabi Police said
- The reduction in traffic fines was launched in accordance with the directives of Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan
- The directive offered a 50% discount on traffic fines accumulated from 1st January 2017 to 2nd December 2017, to mark the Year of Zayed
- Police across the UAE have notified residents about the upcoming deadline through social networking sites and kept urging them to avail the opportunity of discounts
- Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan is the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces
- The Abu Dhabi Police is the regulatory authority in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, who are mainly responsible for all matters related to safety and security of the residents of Abu Dhabi
- UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan declared 2018 as the ‘Year of Zayed’ in the country, to mark the 100th birthday of the Founding Father of UAE
- Fine payments can be made through a variety of options, including the traffic department, car registration centres, UAE bank websites and transport authority centres
- Once the discount on fines end today, motorists will have to pay the full amount for their traffic violations
