The International Solar Alliance will raise $1 trillion (about Rs 67 lakh crore) from multilateral institutions and private sources, new and renewable energy ministry secretary Upendra Tripathy said. The initiative will take a key step forward on January 25, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Francois Hollande jointly lay the foundation stone of its headquarters and inaugurate its interim secretariat at the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) in Gurgaon.
