India Clears Defence Deals Worth $4.7 bn

India cleared the purchase of close to 300 billion rupees (USD 4.74 billion) worth of new defence equipment on Tuesday, including four maritime spy planes from Boeing Co and hundreds of air defence guns, a defence ministry spokesman said.
