Free parking in Abu Dhabi for Eid

Free car parking

Parking in the capital will be free for nearly a week on the occasion of Eid Al Adha, the Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport (DMAT) announced in a statement sent today (September 7).

The free parking begins at midnight on September 11 and extends until 7.59am on Saturday, September 17.

The DMAT, which regulates transportation in Abu Dhabi, urged motorists not to park vehicles in non-designated areas, and not to obstruct traffic flow. In addition, all must ensure that they do not park in resident-only bays without the required permits between 9pm and 8 every day.

Customer Care branches for Mawaqif will be closed for Eid from Sunday, September 11, onwards. Those on Zayed The First Street (Electra), Sultan Bin Zayed the First Street (Muroor Road), Al Falah Street and at the Central Market will resume operations on Friday, September 16, while the branches in Al Maqtaa area, etisalat, among others, will resume operations on Sunday, September 18.
