Free Entry to Dubai Dolphinarium, Safari, Parks for These People
- 2 companions of people of determination (those with special needs) will be able to enter public parks in Dubai for free, Dubai Municipality announced
- The facilities which exempt entry fee for companions of people of determination include public parks in the emirate, Children’s City, Dolphinarium and Dubai Safari Park
- It is a move to meet the Dubai government’s directives to support and provide the people of determination with a dignified life
- It is also part of the initiative “My Community Is a Place for All”, aimed at turning the emirate into a place friendly for people of determination by 2020
- Established in 1957, Dubai Municipality is the municipal body with jurisdiction over city services and the upkeep of facilities in Dubai, under the Government of Dubai
- Dubai has around 10 major public parks, apart from which there are many small neighbourhood parks
- The “My Community Is a Place for All” initiative was launched by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai
- Dubai Dolphinarium is the first fully air-conditioned indoor dolphinarium in the Middle East, functioning since May 2008
- The Dubai Safari Park is set to open in December 2017, as the latest edutainment facility in Dubai housing over 2500 animals of 250 species from all over the world
