On Tuesday, the Filipino community had gathered at the consulate to mark the 120th anniversary of their nation’s independence.
The flag raising ceremony was led by the Consul-General Paul Raymund Cortes at the grounds with the leaders and the members of the Filipino community. On June 12, 1898, was the day that had made itself into history marking their independence after being under the Spanish colonial rule after more than three centuries.
There was a short ceremony that was held right after the celebrations in order to remember the struggle and the efforts that the heroes of their nation had fought for their freedom which they all are able to enjoy.
The messages from the President of Philippines and other Philippine officials were read during the event. There shall be another grand celebration to be held on Friday at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
