Etisalat Introduces New Sim to Compete With Virgin Mobile
- Etisalat is offering a new SIM – Swyp – targeting youths and in response to the launch of Virgin Mobile by du
- Etisalat hasn’t officially launched Swyp, but the apps have been loaded on to the Google and Apple play stores
- To be eligible for Swyp, the user must be 15-29 years old at the time of subscribing for the service and must be able to present a valid Emirates ID Card
- The basic plan offers 5 GB of social data for AED 50 per month, but users can buy add-on packages for AED 12, AED 25, AED 50, AED 100 and AED 150
- Etisalat is one of the two national telecommunications operators in UAE, and the largest carrier of international voice traffic in the Middle East and Africa
- Etisalat is the 14th largest mobile network operator in the world and the 12th largest voice carrier in the world
- The Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC) announced the launch of Virgin Mobile service in the UAE on 5th September, 2017
- The Virgin Mobile UAE app can now be downloaded via the Google Play and Apple App Store
- Virgin Mobile’s cheapest package in UAE begins at AED 79 for 50 minutes and 1GB data (plus 1GB free for 90 days)
