- Emirates Foundation launched a ‘Volunteering Mobile App’ for the 10th anniversary of its Ramadan Campaign
- The app, initiated by the Takatof volunteering programme, is meant to make volunteering easier and more accessible for the youth of UAE, and to increase their sense of civic responsibility
- The organisation aims to involve at least 1700 volunteers during Ramadan, with a total number of 15000 volunteering hours
- The Ramadan Campaign for 2017 will involve a wide range of activities, from preparing Iftar meals, to renovating houses and helping people perform Umrah, especially those who are less fortunate
- The Emirates Foundation is a philanthropic oragnisation under the patronage of the Government of Abu Dhabi, which has been helping the betterment of the welfare of UAE’s youth
- Formed in 2005, Emirates Foundation has helped more than 28000 people over the past twelve years
- Takatof is the largest volunteering network in the UAE, taking inspiration from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi
- The Emirates Foundation will tie up with Make a Wish Foundation to host a fun and exciting event for children who are affected by incurable diseases
- Other events as part of the campaign include a Takatof Football Championship, to encourage the interest of Emirati youngsters and promote a healthy lifestyle during Ramadan
