- The 20th edition of Dubai Summer Surprises is set to start on 1st July, 2017
- The festival will take place from 1st July and go on till 12th August, for a period of six weeks
- There will be discounts of up to 75% and other special offers at almost all retail outlets in Dubai
- Events planned for DSS 2017 include Arabic concerts, Modhesh World, and performances from mega movies like Transformers, Ghostbusters, Pirates of the Caribbean and Aladdin
- Dubai Summer Surprises is an annual festival in which thousands of retailers in Dubai participate and offer discounts to shoppers, apart from which there are a lot of entertaining events and activities
- DSS is organised by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing
- DFRE has tied up with the Dubai Shopping Malls Group to collaborate with malls in Dubai, which increases the number of shoppers and enables them to win prizes at participating malls
- Every edition of Dubai Summer Surprises is planned according to a theme
- The longest duration of DSS was its 10th edition, which lasted 72 days, from 21st June to 31st August, 2007
