- Popular routes across Dubai will be closed from 6 AM to midday on Friday (26th January), paving the way for participants in the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon
- The 42km-long marathon route passes through parts of Umm Suqeim, King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz and Jumeirah streets will see temporary closures for traffic
- During the marathon, Al Wasl Road will be closed between Al Thanya Road and parts of Umm Suqeim Road, and will reopen by 2 PM
- The 42km marathon also includes a 10km-long Road Race and a Fun Run stretching for 4km
- The Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon is an annual marathon running race held in Dubai, in January every year
- The first Dubai Marathon was held on 14th January 2000
- The winner of the 2017 Dubai Marathon set a new record of 2:04:11 seconds, beating the previous record of 2:04:23 seconds set in 2012
- Parking will be available along Al Wasl Road, and around its intersections, or at Mall of the Emirates or around the Al Barsha area
- If you’re in it for a place on your own to cheer at Dubai Marathon – the far end of Jumeirah Beach Road will be probably be where your cheer will be heard the loudest
