DHA Introduces New Guidelines for Medical Applications

- Most typing centres in Dubai have stopped accepting applications from 4th June, 2017, after new standards were introduced by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA)
- Applicants are being asked by the typing centres to visit DHA Medical Fitness Centres for filling up application forms for medical fitness tests
- The new requirements of DHA include a new electronic system, a deposit amount, and a minimum space requirement, among others
- DHA is in the process of streamlining medical fitness services to enhance the customer’s experience and make 25 typing centres across Dubai a one-stop-shop for the them
- The Dubai Health Authrity (DHA) is the regulatory government body which takes care of all aspects related to healthcare in Dubai
- Every expatriate in Dubai has to mandatorily undergo a medical fitness test every two years
- The implementation of the new DHA standards is being done in phases, with the first phase Iincluding centres which have employees above 50, and the second phase centres with employees below 50
- Typing centres are required to follow quality standards set by DHA to ensure customer happiness and professional service, and carry the roll out in phases to make sure the system is upgraded smoothly
- As of June, 2017, all centres in corporate and free zones operate according to the old system but by end of 2018 they will be included in the upgrade
